LETS BUILD A BETTER CHILDHOOD

Every child deserves to be loved and live in a safe and loving household; however, for
hundreds of thousands of children across the globe, abuse and neglect are heartbreaking experiences.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to acknowledge the importance of
families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to
promote the social and emotional wellbeing of children and families. It is a time to
remember that we all need to play a part in preventing child maltreatment.

Child abuse affects the ability of students to succeed in school and often hinders their
ability to forge healthy relationships with their loved ones and peers. One of the most
important tools to break the cycle and eliminate the tragedy of child abuse and neglect
is prevention.

Evidence shows that children’s early experiences impact them throughout
life—positively and negatively. We all need to work together to enable safe, stable, and
nurturing relationships and environments that ensure children and families succeed and
communities to thrive.
